The charm of the Varone Italian Market—built by immigrant grocer John Varone over 100 years ago—is undeniable in its new form as Varone Market Venue. This indoor Denver wedding venue provides an unforgettable setting for an extravagant wedding—or for a more simple celebration or intimate elopement. The exposed red brick walls, the market’s original produce cooler that now serves as a drink bar, and large crystal chandeliers, provide a romantic backdrop for your wedding that can only be created by the passage of more than a century of time.
Stylish Denver, CO Weddings
Surround Your Wedding Day with Old-World Charm
The dress code here has changed from a century ago, and white grocer aprons have been replaced by beautiful white-lace wedding dresses, colorful bridesmaid dresses, and modern suits and tuxedos.
A Historic Venue for Modern Celebrations
Main Venue Space
Huge skylights and the original storefront windows flood the space with natural light during daylight hours. And after the sun goes down, Varone Market Venue’s state-of-the-art lighting system allows you to control the brightness with precision and infuse the space with your event colors, making it uniquely yours. And because most great weddings include good music, in-ceiling speakers throughout the space help ensure you and your guests will have an unforgettable time. An 85″ high-definition screen is ideal for projecting photos and videos.
Glass garage doors spill out onto a private patio where guests can relax, get some fresh air, or enjoy a quiet conversation with a friend or family member under the soft lighting of the market lights overhead. And five new bathrooms—two of which are ADA compliant—help prevent long wait times and will certainly be appreciated by your guests.
The Carriage House
The adjacent Carriage House is a supplemental resource available for your wedding day and may be rented for an additional fee. It is an ideal space for a bridal suite, allowing the bride and bridesmaids to relax and get ready for the big day in a private, quiet and intimate setting. The historic Carriage House is just steps away from the primary event space and has a new ADA bathroom and kitchenette for your convenience. There is no lingering scent of the horses that were stabled in the Carriage House over 100 years ago, but the charm of this building continues to emanate from its original brick walls and vaulted ceiling—which are accentuated by the large crystal chandelier (five feet in diameter) that hangs overhead.
For your convenience, included in the Varone Market Venue rental are 20 round tables (each five feet in diameter), crossback chairs, two custom farmhouse tables (each eight feet long), and seven custom cocktail tables. Our new catering kitchen will help ensure a great dining experience for you and your guests. Finally, to help you focus on enjoying your wedding day, Varone Market Venue provides a day-of-event coordinator who is familiar with the event space and its resources and can help ensure your day goes off without a hitch.
